The 2025 awards season kicked off in style with a bang at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, also known as “Hollywood’s Party of the Year.” The awards ceremony brought together some of the biggest names in film and television at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5th. One show that has garnered a lot of buzz is HBO Max’s “The Penguin.” Gotham City’s gang heads ignored everyone.
Despite some viewers complaining about superhero fatigue in entertainment, Penguin stands out from the pack with its harsh realism and engaging cast. Viewers and critics alike were captivated by the show’s leads, with Colin Farrell, who plays the Penguin, and Cristin Milioti, the Penguin’s on-screen counterpart and nemesis, each taking home Best Actor awards for their shocking performances. Milioti channeled sophisticated gothic glamor in a custom-made black velvet Rodarte dress that matched her co-star’s black and white Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo. “Kristin and I have so much fun collaborating,” her stylist Bailey Moon tells InStyle. “We were both eager to work with Rodarte on something special, and the Golden Globes were the perfect opportunity.[Rodarte co-founders]Kate and Laura (Maleby) came up with this smooth velvet corset dress with beautiful trim that mimics broken glass.” ”

“Rodarte has always been one of my favorite designers. My amazing stylist Bailey Moon and I started collaborating on this dress a few weeks ago and they couldn’t have been more gracious and lovely. And he was supportive,” Milioti says. “We wanted a mix of old Hollywood classic glamor, but also a little nod to the risquéness of the show…they went above and beyond. I love it very much.”
