Dr Anuja Gupta launches Strong N Beautiful to redefine menopause care through education, community, and culturally informed midlife support.
In clinical practice and her own lived experience, Dr Anuja Gupta noticed a recurring pattern: women entering midlife had important questions and concerns for health implications about menopause that lacked clear, accessible answers. Trained as a physician, Gupta saw beyond common stereotypes about aging and realized that menopause is not just a biological transition but also a topic shaped by social and cultural silence.
That insight led to the creation of Strong N Beautiful, a digital platform aimed at supporting women’s understanding & providing treatment options for menopause and related midlife health issues. Gupta describes the initiative as an effort to fill gaps in awareness and access to the right care, build community, and provide culturally informed perspectives rather than replicate generic wellness content.
Gupta’s background spans continents and disciplines. Born and raised in Mumbai, she moved to America at age 25 for further education and a career in medicine. She practiced Cardiology in Chicago where she later transitioned as a Physician-Entrepreneur. Through these experiences, she developed crucial skills in evidence-based medicine and business development. From her own lived experience and seeking the right care, she observed that many women navigate menopause without reliable information, access to the right medical and wellness care or supportive spaces to discuss their experiences openly. This created a personal passion to merge her interests in evidence-based medicine and business development for education and treatment of Menopause and related midlife conditions.
The mission of Strong N Beautiful centers on awareness, education, treatment and importantly changing the perspective and cultural context of Menopause. Rather than presenting menopause solely as a set of symptoms, the platform encourages women to learn about physiological changes alongside social and emotional aspects. It offers evidence-based treatment options and facilitates a mind-set change about physical, emotional and mental changes that occur in Menopause. The initiative uses the phrase “Reclaim Your Shakti” as a way to connect with cultural language familiar to many Indian women, emphasizing self‑awareness and agency rather than decline.
Although the effort has global relevance, Gupta chose to launch Strong N Beautiful with a focus on India. With one of the world’s largest populations of midlife women, India faces a noticeable need for more integrated discussions of menopause and related care. Conversations about midlife health in many regions of the country remain fragmented, and cultural stigma around aging and bodily change can make it difficult for women to find supportive dialogue. Access to the right providers and treatment options are lacking. A long shadow cast by “Inherited Silence’ about Menopause has held back progress with the right information and care for many decades. After gaining much acclaim and success in her adopted home-land, Gupta also had a strong desire to give back to the country that shaped her early life.
In response, Strong N Beautiful offers an integrated digital platform where women can engage meaningfully with socially relevant content, explore mental, emotional and medical information, share experiences, explore medical and non-medical treatment options and track their healing journey, at their own pace. The emphasis is on education, community building and access to various treatment options, allowing users to gain clarity, engage deeply, connect with others facing similar questions and choose treatment options suitable for their personal preferences.
Gupta frames the initiative as both professional and personal. Her multiple perspectives, grounded in clinical training, business development and shaped by cross‑cultural experiences, influences how the platform will be structured. The voice of the platform aims to be socially and culturally relevant, informative and respectful, structured but empathetic, reflecting an understanding of all dimensions of menopause, social, mental, emotional and physical. In doing so, the platform seeks to normalize menopause as a natural phase of life that benefits from thoughtful consideration, support and treatment.
As Strong N Beautiful continues to expand its content and engagement opportunities, it invites women to approach menopause with the right context and information. By reframing midlife health as a subject deserving of attention and care, providing access to various evidence-based medical and non-medical treatment options, the initiative contributes to ongoing efforts to make menopause a visible, understood and treatable part of women’s health & wellbeing.
