British Vogue declared Rohe an under-the-radar brand praised by editors based in London and New York. A quick scroll through the brand’s tagged photos on Instagram reveals that this hidden Amsterdam-based brand is secretly a mainstay of influencers and It girls.
Rohe’s focus on tailoring and beautifully constructed basics will appeal to those who love The Row and Totem. A relatively new brand, it was founded in 2021 by Marieke Muehlendyks and Michael Weers, who wanted to create timeless collections that transcended seasons and fickle trend cycles. The brand’s website states, “Lohe focuses on unexpected edges, exceptional Italian fabrics, and uncompromising quality.” Black blazers, tailored shorts, and maxi skirts are the core of every collection, making you feel like Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.
You don’t have to be a minimalist to understand these basic elements. Although simply wired, the structure has an architectural quality. For example, a gray crewneck sweater is cut off at the shoulders and the arms loop around the chest. The blouse is artistically draped with ripples, folds and twists to create a striking silhouette.
