Kylie Kelce Discusses Parenting Dynamics After the Birth of Finnley Anne
New Arrival in the Kelce Family
Kylie Kelce recently welcomed her fourth daughter, Finnley Anne, into the family on March 30. In a recent episode of her podcast, Not Gonna Lie, she opened up about the shared responsibilities and challenges of caring for a newborn alongside her three other daughters: Wyatt (5), Elliotte (4), and Bennett (2).
Nighttime Responsibilities Explained
During the podcast episode, which was pre-recorded while Kylie is on maternity leave, she discussed their nighttime routine. “Overnights with a newborn for us typically mean that I’m waking up and doing feeds and Jason is sleeping, so that he can man the toddlers during the day,” she explained.
Kylie emphasized that this arrangement is not a traditional expectation of gender roles but rather a practical solution to manage their household. “That’s how I like it. He needs sleep to be able to chase toddlers during the day,” she added.
Jason Kelce’s Impact and Role as a Father
Jason Kelce, who retired from the NFL in March 2024 after an impressive career with the Philadelphia Eagles, is portrayed by Kylie as a dedicated father. She noted, “I hope that ultimately they end up understanding that their dad had an impact on Philadelphia in a way that was wholesome… He gave his blood, sweat, and tears to the city, and it was out of sheer love and commitment.”
Reactions from the Older Sisters
Kylie also shared heartwarming insights into how each of the older sisters is adjusting to their new sibling. “Bennett is still ticked. She is annoyed. She told me, ‘Put baby down,’” Kylie remarked. Meanwhile, Wyatt expressed excitement over the new addition, stating, “Oh my gosh. She’s just so cute,” and Elliotte has been eager to assist while constantly wanting to interact with Finn.
Transitioning to Motherhood and Postpartum Realities
In her discussion of motherhood, Kylie expressed the emotional complexities that come with the experience. Reflecting on her initial days with Wyatt, she noted the transformative moment of their first meaningful smile, describing her earlier feelings of being “just a sleep-deprived stranger trying to keep this tiny human alive.”
She also highlighted the lack of conversation surrounding postpartum challenges, stating, “The conversations we’re not having are the things we’re all experiencing… We all go through it, but nobody talks about it. And we should.”
