Heidi Solomon-Orlick, a seasoned enterprise sales expert and founder of GirlzWhoSell, has embarked on a remarkable journey of reinvention after 60, one that underscores the limitless potential for change, even after decades of corporate success. With over 30 years of global sales and executive leadership experience, Heidi has proven that it’s never too late to pursue new dreams, find new purpose, and make a lasting impact in the world.
As the founder of GirlzWhoSell, Heidi’s dedication to empowering the next generation of women in sales has taken center stage. GirlzWhoSell Academy provides training, scholarships, mentorship, and career readiness programs to young women from underserved communities, opening doors to career opportunities in professional sales. This initiative aims to democratize access to sales education and create a pipeline of diverse, early-stage female sales talent, addressing the gaps in representation within the field.
Despite a highly successful career in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry, where she generated more than $1.5 billion in revenue and played a key role in creating thousands of jobs worldwide, Heidi knew it was time for a transformation. At the age of 63, she found herself at a crossroads, having been laid off and “aged out” of the BPO sector. Far from retreating, Heidi leaned into full-time entrepreneurship, embracing the challenges of launching and growing a business, publishing books, advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion and championing active aging initiatives in new ways.
In 2022, after contributing a chapter to the book Upward: Leadership Lessons for Women on the Rise, Heidi published her first book, Heels to Deals: How Women Are Dominating in Business-to-Business Sales, which has since garnered recognition and acclaim. The book highlights the stories, triumphs and resilience of women in the male-dominated world of B2B sales. But, her reinvention didn’t stop there. In 2024, Heidi fulfilled a lifelong dream and launched her debut children’s book I Have a Voice: A Book of Listening, which encourages young children to recognize, honor, and trust their inner voice, teaching them how to use their voice for positive change in the world.
Heidi’s work with GirlzWhoSell and her foray into children’s literature is rooted in her belief that it is never too late to change direction and start anew. She views the pursuit of purpose and legacy as a lifelong endeavor, and her own journey exemplifies the power of reinvention. In fact, her story stands as an inspiration for all women navigating their own transitions, showing them that transformation is possible at any stage of life. “Your future might never look exactly as you plan, but it will be what you were inspired to create,” Heidi often says, reflecting on her personal and professional evolution.
The power of reinvention is a theme that resonates throughout Heidi’s career and personal life. In the past five years alone, she has not only launched GirlzWhoSell, authored an award-winning book and followed her dream of becoming a children’s author, but she has also overcome a battle with skin cancer, embraced her role as a first-time grandmother, and, to support her travel obsession, became certified as a travel agent advocating for female travelers over 50. She continues to grow as an influencer, sharing her passion for sales, diversity, and active aging with a broad audience.
Looking ahead, Heidi is poised to add more achievements to her already impressive list. Following the success of I Have a Voice: A Book of Listening, she has signed a deal for two additional children’s books. Her mission remains clear: to empower women and girls, amplify voices, and reshape the future of sales and leadership in ways that build a more inclusive world.
Through her work, Heidi challenges the conventional narrative that suggests career changes or pursuits of passion must adhere to rigid timelines. Her journey exemplifies the freedom to reinvent oneself and embrace new chapters, no matter the stage in life. “The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams,” says Heidi, echoing a quote by Oprah Winfrey and a sentiment shared by some of the world’s most renowned figures in personal development.
With her current projects continuing to grow, including opportunities for GirlzWhoSell’s expansion into middle school programs and a Kidz Klub, Heidi is forging a path not just for herself but for the women, girls and children she mentors. She advocates for sales as a viable career path from a younger age, with plans to create even more opportunities for underserved youth to engage in professional development and entrepreneurship.
From a corporate sales career to a mission-driven entrepreneur and children’s author, Heidi Solomon-Orlick’s story is a testament to the power of reinvention, perseverance, and the belief that it is never too late to start anew. For those looking to follow their own path to success, her journey proves that transformation is always possible when you dream big and take bold steps toward making those dreams a reality.
